Susan Lefkowich graduated from University

of California, Berkeley with a BA degree in

Art History and a minor in painting, and a

Secondary Teaching Credential in Art.

Over the years, her work has evolved from

large figurative paintings, to egg tempera

and encaustic miniatures, collage and

currently to large abstract works on Yupo

paper that draw inspiration from nature.

 

Her work has been included in the following

exhibitions: 10th Annual Abstract Sanctuary

Exhibition at Verum Ultimum Art Gallery in

Portland Oregon; In the Abstract at the San

Fernando Valley Arts & Cultural Center,

Encino, California; Small Works at the Strata

Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and the

Abstract Art Collective fall exhibition in Taos,

New Mexico.  

Selected paintings have been reproduced

in the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother,

the NBC sitcom A to Z, and Our Summer in

Tehran, a film documentary produced by

Promises Films and Justine Shapiro. She also

participated in the the Downtown Berkeley

Utility Boxes public art project “Streets Alive”

sponsored by the Earth Island Institute.

Lefkowich moved to Lamy, New Mexico in

2019. Before relocating she lived in the

San Francisco Bay Area where she worked as

Development Director and Fundraiser for

visual arts organizations including the

Oakland Museum, the San Francisco Museum

of Modern Art, and the Contemporary Jewish

Museum, San Francisco.
