I work with a process involving Yupo

paper, India and alcohol inks and acrylic

paint. The imagery is influenced by

encounters I have while walking

through my natural surroundings in the

high desert of New Mexico. My recent

work is informed by patterns created

from fallen branches and the decorative

designs carved into the landscape by

flowing water.

The randomness and unpredictability of

the method used in creating these

pieces parallel what I respond to in

nature.

Set against a black backdrop, a sinuous

tangle of various weighted lines and cut

out geometric shapes create a tapestry

of brushstrokes. The results are paintings

that present a world awash in

ambiguous dimension.
